THE VIRTUE AND IMPORTANCE OF PRAYER

The Virtue and Importance of Prayer

Prayer is the second of the five pillars of Islam. Prayer provides a golden opportunity to attend the five daily prayers to God Almighty and addressing God Almighty is an unparalleled means of praying and gaining nearness to Him. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:

Prayer is the pillar of religion. He who established it, it is as if he established the whole religion

He left it as if he had left the whole religion.

The one who prays is a Muslim and the one who does not pray is close to disbelief. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:

"Of course, the difference between a Muslim and a disbeliever is prayer."

In the Qur'an, Allah has repeatedly commanded the establishment of prayers and has declared it to be a special attribute of the believers.

"And keep up prayer and do not be of the polytheists."

The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said about prayer.

"The coolness of my eyes is prayer."

"Prayer is the ascension of the believer."

نماز کی فضیلت واہمیت

اسلام کے پانچ ارکان میں سے نماز دوسرا رکن ہے۔ نماز اللہ تمالی کے حضور پنجگانہ حاضری کا سہنری موقع فراہم کرتی ہے اور اللہ تعالی سے مخاطب ہونے دعا مانگنے اور اس کا قرب حاصل کرنے کا بے مثال ذریعہ ہے۔ حضور صلی اللہ عیلہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا۔

نماز دین کا ستون ہے۔ جس نے اسے قائم کیا اس نے گویا پورا دین قائم کر دیا اور جس

 نے اسے چھوڑ دیا اس نے گویا پورے دین کو چھوڑ دیا۔

نماز پڑھنے والا مسلمان ہوتا ہے اور نہ پڑھنے والا کفر کے قریب ہوتا ہے۔ حضور صلی اللہ عیلہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا۔

"بے شک مسلمان اور کافر کے درمیان فرق کرنے والی چیز نماز ہے۔"

قرآن مجید میں اللہ تمالی نے باربار نماز قائم کرنے کا حکم دیا ہے اور مومنین کی خاص صفت قرار دیا ہے۔

ارشاد ربانی ہے۔

"اور نماز پڑھتے رہو اور مشرکوں میں نہ ہونا۔"

نبی کریم صلی اللہ عیلہ وآلہ وسلم نے نماز کے بارے میں ارشاد فرمایا۔

"میری آنکھوں کی ٹھنڈک نماز ہے۔"

"نماز مومن کی معراج ہے۔"
