دارا و سکندر سے وہ مرد فقیر اولی۔

ہو جس کی فقیری میں بوئے اسد اللہی۔

مفہوم

دنیا کے بڑے بڑے بادشاہوں دارا اور سکندر سے وہ مرد درویش مرتبے کے لحاظ سے کہیں بہتر ہے جس کی درویشی میں حضرت علی کے اوصاف پائے جائیں۔

تشریح

علامہ اقبال اس شعر میں مرد درویش کی شان بیان کرتے ہیں۔ وہ مفلس تنگ دست اور محتاج کو فقیر نہیں کہتے۔ ان کے نزدیک فقیر وہ ہے جس کو دنیا کی کسی شے کا لالچ نہ ہو۔ وہ دنیا کی شان وشوکت اور جاہ وجلال سے بے نیاز ہو۔سلطنت ملے تو ٹھکرا دے۔سلطان ہو جائے تو ایک پروقار فقیر کی طرح کاروبارحکومت چلائے۔تسلیم ورضا اس کا اوڑھنا بچھونا ہو۔ حضرت علی کی زندگی شان فقر کا بہترین نمونہ تھی۔ آپ نے نہایت سادہ زندگی گزری اور غرت و خودداری کو ہر حال میں قائم رکھا۔ کسی کے آگے سوال نہ کیا اور نہ جاہ وحشمت کی خواہش کی جو کی سوکھی روٹی کھائی۔لیکن جرات ایمانی کی یہ کیفیت کے وقت شہ زرو پہلوانوں کو پحپھاڑ دیا۔

Meaning

The man who has the attributes of Hazrat Ali in his dervishes is far better than the great kings of the world, Darius and Alexander.

Description

In this poem, Allama Iqbal describes the glory of male dervishes. They do not call the poor and the needy poor. To them, the poor are those who are not greedy for anything in the world. He should be deprived of the glory and splendor of the world. If he gets a kingdom, he should reject it. If he becomes a sultan, he should run a business government like a poor man. Hazrat Ali's life was the best example of Shaan Faqr. You lived a very simple life and maintained self-control in all circumstances. He did not ask questions from anyone and did not want to be greedy. He ate dry bread. But in this state of courage and faith, he defeated the wrestlers.
